When I moved to the Beavery Valley in Ontario in 1978, winters were awesome in the classical sense of the word: humbling, wondrous, huge. Eight foot snowbanks and snow that started in November and didn’t stop until January. Then gradually this faded away. Last year I used my snowblower once.
This winter is like the old ones. Highways are repeatedly closed and my shed just collapsed from the snow load . Thank god for front wheel and AWD vehicles with snow tires. My backcountry skis are getting very good use.
You better have backup heat if the power goes out.
Could the decrease in Albedo be from the massive increase in Chem Trails during ‘covid’? Maybe it didn’t reflect the sunlight, maybe it actually kept less of it from reflecting back out? They really did a massive increase in Spraying during those years…still are. Perhaps we don’t really understand what they Chem Trails are for?

Albedo is measured from satellites.
When the Earth becomes greener with plants, the Earth’s albedo decreases because the plants use sunlight for photosynthesis and reflect less light.
Scientists say that the leaves of the plants get warm from the sunlight and warm the Earth because the plants reflect less sunlight.
I recall growing up in Cleveland, OH in the ’50s … and the wind and wind chill there was said to be worse than in Chicago in the winters.
I was delivering newspapers in high school one day when the raw temperature was supposedly -18ºF … and with the wind chill it was more like -55ºF. I got severe frostbite and my MD threatened to amputate 15 of my toes and fingers. Luckily, he decided to give it 48 hours — still have all my digits.
Another time I was parked for work below the Terminal Tower in their outside lot — this was winter of ’69-’70 … it got so cold that the pistons froze inside the engine block. The car never worked properly after that.
Warmer than ave West US the rest of the month, US cold snap gone by Sunday then back to ave the rest of the month and into March. A cold snap between two heatwaves from solar activity, when it gets quiet again we go zonal.

How much of Earth’s weak mag shield and the pole flip is manmade? How much is HAARP causing quakes, volcanos and also changing weather? Unknown unknowns.
Ya we can count sunspots and watch the sun’s solar polar fields mag strengths on the chart when they update it monitoring Eddy Minimum’s progress. Just can’t see how Earth’s changed mag shield is changing things and how much mankind is changing that.

52F at noon Wednesday, feels like Spring in February. I get to save more firewood for next year which means less pain. Warm news happy news. If my crapper flushes I am happy or my stove works or my car makes it to the store and back 120 miles I am happy. I’m pretty easy to make happy good food makes me happy. Biggest electron spike in a year makes me happy that same coronal hole will be back in a month causing more record heat just like 2015 going into solar minimum.

Noon here 50 miles South of Canada it’s sunny and 52F which is warmer than ave temp. No record cold here. Grass is green, everybody happy.
